What does that mean? Well, not only will listeners be gifted with some brilliant live session tracks, you'll also get to hear Ferris and Daniel talking about STA's past, present and future whilst spinning some tracks from some of our forthcoming releases!

Public Service Broadcast Club 2 takes place this weekend, on Saturday April 19th, again in co-operation with the fine people at On Fire, The Notting Hill Arts Club and Rough Trade's RoTa series. This time, the following wonderful musical combos will be gracing the stage:

4 OR 5 MAGICIANS (stagetime: 7:00pm)
Brighton's kings of hardworking slack rock. Shades of Pavement, GBV and Dinosaur Jr, except if they were gobby, opinionated  and from south London. Fuzz drenched  anthems-in-waiting, and recently seen on tour with Los Campesinos! of all people. New 7" 'Change The Record' out April 21st on This Is Fake DIY Records!

LOAD.CLICK.SHOOT! (stagetime: 6:15pm)
Angular disco colours and kaleidoscopic rhythms, coming all the way from the wilds of Devon. Bundles of fun, but what less could you expect from a band with a song called "Le Disco Avec Moi"? Forthcoming 7" on Oxford's finest DIY label, Vacouous Pop.

TESSELATORS (stagetime: 5:30pm)
Based in London and with a shared love of Built To Spill, Captain Beefheart, Battles, The Band and Fugazi, all of which come across in their kickin' live sound. Lofty plans for the future involve release three EPs in a year, one detailing adventure, another concerning the sea, and one about the city. All four members of Tesselators used to be in The Hundred Handed, who longterm STA fans may remember from a couple of early Public Service Broadcasts.

JAM ON BREAD (stagetime: 4:45pm)
Jam On Bread is the leading proponent of the aquatic uke-pop scene of  Manchester. Indie pop that brings to mind the joy of Animal Collective and fragility of The Radio Dept., Sambassadeur and a whole load of Swedish bands that only total indie pop nerds will have heard of. Indie pop nerds like Daniel STA.

The action takes place from 4pm at the Notting Hill Arts Club in west London, and entry is totally free. Come say hi!

Yep, that's right - we have a limited number of guestlist spots for the double header session, and we're able to offer them to you lovely people!

If you're interested in coming along, please email Daniel and use the subject line "STA At Maida Vale". This is first come, first served, and you must be free to attend the recording at 3pm. We'll email you back with further details if you've been successful!

For those who can't make it, the sessions will be broadcast that same evening, sometime between 9pm and 10pm.

While we've yet to set a release date for the album, we can reveal several more bits of information! Firstly, that artwork is being handled by Matthew Barnes, who some of you may know from the the beautiful tree-themed sleeve from Public Service Broadcast 9. Secondly, that the first single from the album will be  for the track 'The Captain America Video', which is going to feature some exclusive b-sides and will arrive shortly before it's parent album. A video is currently in production for the track as well! A rough mix of the track can currently be heard over at Alan's myspace page.

Alan's also started a brand new blog, to talk about some of the influences and the creative thoughts and processes that went into making the record, and where hopefully he'll chart where the next year or so takes him! Go have a read.

Joining the band this time will be Francis Pug and the Whiskey Singers, who, despite claiming to be from the UK, sound like they've just stumbled in heartbroken and bruised from a bar fight somewhere in the Deep South. Says their myspace:

"Francis Pugh and the Whisky Singers formed with the express purpose of singing about and drinking copious amounts of whisky. They have succeeded in both accounts."

Most, most excellent.

The Playthings themselves will also be gracing the stage for another of their charged, sweaty live sets. This all goes down this coming Thursday 20th March, at the Port Mahon in Oxford. Door charge stands at a totally reasonable £4!

The band are also very much hard at work on new material - the first fruits of this can be seen on the forthcoming Hot Sex! EP, which will be available digitally very soon. The title track has already been spun by Huw Stephens on his Radio 1 show - if you want to hear more Playthings on the radio, why not drop him an email and let him know?

They're also currently plotting a short trip to Spain in early April - watch out, señoritas! Further details are available at the band's myspace.

Mr Fly is touring in support of his second album, Searching For The Hows And Whys, which was released last Monday via Atlantic Records. Also very cool: synth-poppers and STA Alldayer veterns I Was A Cub Scout will be joining the tour for all the April dates. Who remembers their incredible set in the Sweatbox room back at Alldayer 06? Wow.

Wrecked Angles is the band's first full-length album, and follows on from the mini-albums If This Is The Future Count Us In (2004, Freakscene Records) and We Are The Octagonists (2005, Captains of Industry). There's going to be a standard CD release as well as a super limited LP pressing! It's going to be limited to 100 copies on clear 12" vinyl, and comes packaged in a folded A2 lithograph print, all enclosed in a plastic sleeve. Check out the below pictures:

We're told it should be ready for mid/late April, but if you want one we suggest you get a move on as last we heard, there are only about 40 copies left!
