“Fast-Rising Northern Irish Upstarts Tear Up Camden” Live Review: Fighting With Wire - Barfly on 20/05/08 - Everyone Needs A Nemesis

From Kerrang!, by Rob Bealey on 4 June 2008

...The Derry trio batter the fuck out of their instruments, attacking their set with a comparable level of honest fury, while never once losing grip on their infectious melodies and impeccable choruses. For all the media interest, there's a good majority of die-hards in the crowd, arms raised and singing along like they're on their third or fourth album. With sweaty frontman Cahir O'Doherty presiding, Strength in Numbers and current single Everyone Needs a Nemesis cut like musical knives through the audience, despite little movement beyond their well-meaning swaying and bouncing. Clattering punctually to a close, Fighting With Wire's refreshingly honest racket leaves you hoping that they'll remember tonight when they hit the big-time.
