“5/5. A killer chorus that?s the musical equivalent of a warm hug.” Single Review: Oppenheimer - Breakfast In NYC/Truth Or Dare

‘Breakfast in NYC’ is the best song I’ve heard in ages, it’s lo-fi electronica with pop sensibilities that’s very easy on the ear and just coos at you. It’s similar in vein to ‘The Postal Service’ in that part of the charm is in the simplicity of the track; the gentle beats and then a killer chorus that’s the musical equivalent of a warm hug, but it never becomes whimsical. The track shares the billing with the equally good ‘Truth or Dare’ which quickens the pace of the music and turns into a tune awash with strong percussion and swelling with an eccentric style. Awesome.
