'She’s A Rebel', another piece of quality from SmallTown America Records, is a glorious 4 minutes that sounds as innocent and raw as it is charming. The chorus is infectious and the peaks and troughs dip and rise with the exuberance of youth. The awkwardness of young love and lust is captured and celebrated in a way we can all remember. Owing influences in the direction of The Replacements, The Undertones, with Clash style backing vocals weaving throughout, and chirpy punk riffs, The Young Playthings have unleashed a cracker. Actually, 'She’s A Rebel' is a glorious 20 minutes, I’ve just played it 5 times on the spin!
