DDF release debut mini-album
"The first great rock record of 2006 has arrived" - The Fly
We've always been intoxicated by Dragonflies Draw Flame's (PSB#5 & #7) post-Seafood folk loveliness and they haven't let us down with debut mini-album 'Harboured Safe' - the band's first release for Stressed Records; it flirts with several genres and "is held together by a running lyrical theme of holding onto the past." . If you like your rock turned down a little and like your lyrics home-fried and potent, this is the record for you.
Recorded at Truck Studios, Oxford; home of the eponymous festival, The mini-album has had great reviews from The Fly, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer; as well as airplay from Steve Lamacq, Rob da Bank, Clint Boon, Huw Stephens and Dutch DJ Marcelle von Hoof. And you got it first STA'ers via Public Service Broadcasting...
Also, in Radio Land - Fickle Public continue to pick up national airplay (check out last night's Zane Lowe broadcast between Plan B and The Kooks - towards the end of the show). There's a great review of the guys in this week's, Kerrang!'s from last months barfly show archived in the media centre.
