Non-Stop Activity from Public Service Broadcasters
A quick squizz at the activities of past and future PSB participants reveals an incredible flurry of tours, releases and campaigns. Friends, these bands don't stop! Surf to your hearts content through the artist directory. Or let us take you gently by the hand through the internet maelstrom.
Ipanema have released their long awaited debut mini-album 'Mememe'. The six tracker is available on e-CD and coloured 10" via Boss Tuneage. A string of and European dates are planned to co-incide with the release of the record. Check out the ace, newly re-vamped Ipanema site for more information.
Hundred Handed (pictured) are playing a free gig at Virgin Megastore on October 13th as part of John Peel Day. Onstage at 9pm, the boys are promoting debut album 'Our Dead Language'. Launch party for that is at Pure Groove Record Store on October 14th. It's an open invitation to us all to 'come and drink some beer and listen to records.' I don’t think you can say fairer than that.
KROQ approved 100 Bullets Back continue to pick up a multitude of global fans with their Hot Hot Heat via Pet Shop Boys take on indie pop on album 'Refute Fake Icons'. It's out now on the ever present, ever busy Velocity Recordings or direct from the band on their forthcoming tour. We're warned to try to get one of the first shows to pick up one of their 'smashing new badges'.
Finally our guests at the All-Dayer aftershow, The Sailplanes headline the GodIsInTheTVZine curated Artful Collective Festival on October 28th at the Brixton Windmill. Gifthorse, Villette, Penny Broadhurst and a Chris Chincilla (ex Art Brut) DJ Set bolster The Sailplanes' arch take on Sonic Youth.
