17.02.07 - 'Yr So Fit (For Me)' - Steve Ansell (BRS) produced and recorded live, this Young Playthings track sounds like a classic punk three minutes to me already. Not included on the debut album, so included here for completists.

22.08.06 - 'Forever On The Edge' comes from 4 or 5 Magicians this a surly surf through the Guided By Voices back catalogue on Malkmus' coat-tails. Watch this space.

18.08.06 - Probably the best Irish band at the moment is the truly inventive, brave and classy Clone Quartet. Their track on PSB8 takes some beating but they've also got classic electro-Pixies  Who Made Up The Rules and the disco-SYouth Won't Somebody Please in their cannon. We're very excited about the new tracks on their myspace at the moment. Check it all out, it will fuel you more than the fish-finger sandwiches you're so partial to at the moment.

Cake is into the Magners at the moment, he reckons that it's crisper than 'Bulmers Fine Irish Cider' - I tend to disagree. If you want crisp my friend, download The Elephant Rescue Plan's Beating Drums. It's David Bowie on ice, flipped up 2006-style.

Magical myspace discovery of August '06 goes to Alan MX; this is the inspired Thom Yorke bits riffing with Peaches and early REM. It's all so delightfully youthful and sassy. Check out 'Love Is Terrible' and 'Circle Of Infamy' and the wonderfully geeky blog about how the songs have been formed; remix after tortured remix. Keep the faith.
