The Irish News Feature 4 Or 5 Magicians

You might well have discovered a new band that could be your life.

Just gimme indie rock? OK, here's Brighton's 4 Or 5 Magicians invoking slack spirits of yr favourite plaid-clad lords of ye olde US underground. Sebadoh? Um. Pavement. Er? Archers Of Loaf? Yeah, like, whatever. Sensibly eschewing post-Doherty skiffle and 4Music-friendly electroindie, 'Empty Derivative Pop Songs' pilfers the best bits from their aforementioned American touchstones mixed with an unhealthy dose of charming Anglo-Saxon centric electric white boy blues.

They dis' Topman, sing about a youth wasted on playing cricket and offer shout-outs to Radio 4, Tesco Value and Sainbury's Basics. Art Brut have finally found their soulmates and you might well have discovered a new band that could be your life. Come on, indie rock!
