FWW's "Sugar" No.1 In MTV2 Charts
North West band FWW, who have a big following on the North Coast, have started 2009 with a bang after storming straight in at number one in the MTV2 music video charts on their first week with their new single.
Returning to the music scene with the third single from their debut album 'Man vs Monster', the guys have already tasted sweet success with their single Sugar.
The track showcases the three-piece bands potential and talent and flags them up as ones to watch this year. Enjoying silimar success with their previous singles, they seem set to sontinue producing popular hits. Described as 'lyrically introspective' and showcasing the band 'at it's melodic best', "Sugar"'s blend of thumping choruses and monster guitar changes signal what has become a trademark sound for the musicians.
Their clever combination of lyrics and melody seeps into the listeners psyche, demonstrating the bands desire to evoke more than a physical reaction form their fans.
FWW - the brainchild of Cahir O'Doherty (Clearshot/Jeptplane Landing) and Craig McKean (Clearshot) entered the music scene in 2003. Investing their time in songwriting, the band subsequently took to the road and have spent the last three years travelling, playing at shows with the likes of Seafood, YCNI:M & Future of the Left. These eclectic musical experiences have helped them develop and indeed hone their onstage performances, which are sure to go down a treat with local fans.
In 2006 the band took a much deserved break after producing a number of limited edition DIY singles, which they followed up with their long awaited debut album, recorded in NI. The final product, 'Man vs Monster', was unleashed in mid-2007 and has been hailed as "a dynamic beast of a record, raging out of your speakers one minute yet gentle and intricate the next, and all without losing focus of what's important - the song..."
