Rock Sound Give 'Finding St Kilda' 8/10

"...Fuzz driven sludge-pop..."

Life can't be easy for a fuzz driven sludge-pop band from rural Northern Ireland. Luckily enough, Axis Of have slipped through the cracks and started to come into view of the rest of the world. And when you hear the trio's debut album, it's not hard to understand why. Frontman Ewen Friers' youthful reaklessness is a ferocious layer of grit over a British rock sensibility, resulting in a cham that's hard not to like. As ruthlass as it is introspective, 'Finding St Kilda' creates its own kind of noise-pop that goes down very nicely. An original, sterling first record.
