I caught up with Alan Ferguson (vocals & guitar) while he was flying across Europe to see what he is getting up to.
What have you been getting up to over the past year?
Over the last year I have mostly been working away for the man, so no real rock and roll lifestyle for me. In even more un rock news I just bought my first flat in Glasgow so the start of the year was taken up with painting etc.
Any current projects/new music?
As for musical projects, I have mostly been focusing on writing by myself on the acoustic. I have a few songs but I am unsure what to do with them. They are pretty mellow kind of similar to 'Another Exit Ruined By Stairfalling' on Bucko. I need to get my act together and recoerd them properly.
I quite like the idea of getting some kind of metal band together too. I have been listeni g to a lot of Converge, Crowbar and Superjoint Ritual lately and I have been feeling inspird. I am a bit wary of forming another band but I could always do it just for fun....
What does every day life look like for you?
I work for  large public sector company doing analysis work on a large change programme. Quite a difference from a few years ago when we were boming up and down the M6 in a rusty old Transit Van. Other than that I enjoy going to my gym, Crossfit Glasgow, which stops me getting fat... I'm going to be 30 in July. How did that happen?
I see Jetplane are putting out another record. Maybe I should get my act together and record some music. If Jetplane can do it then I certainly can. They're ancient!
