'Fighting With Wire may only be a trio, but their melodic rock still managed to pack a powerful punch'

DERRY rockers Fighting With Wire may only be a trio, but their melodic rock still managed to pack a powerful punch.

Their riff-driven style has drawn comparisons to Biffy Clyro, which they displayed with opener "Strength In Numbers", but their lack of connection with the crowd was met with a cool response. It wasn't until "Make A Fist" that the fans polite nodding and clapping was transformed into real enthusiasm.

Standout number "All For Nothing" adrenalised both fans and band alike, and although they showed potential, it was overshadowed with a strangely dull atmosphere and mediocre performance.
