October 2012 Newsletter
We've uncovered a few dusty gems during a recent clear out of the STA storeroom and we're in the gift giving mood! We have five copies of the Fierce Panda-issued 2001 'GO' EP to give away. It features tracks from Jimmy Eat World, San Quentin, Jetplane Landing, and Stapleton. Whilst not all those bands remain fully intact, thankfully some of their records do... to win one, make us laugh on @STA_Records and the five most inventive contributors will get their 7" in the mail tomorrow.
[1] Negative Pegasus On Zappar
Negative Pegasus' debut album 'Looming' is out this week. The limited edition 12" vinyl includes an AR sleeve that you can interact with to win a monster Smalltown America goodie bag here's a short 'how to' video:
1. Download Zappar onto your iOS or Android
2. Sacn the Zapcode by following the instructions
3. Create a GIF file and share it @Negative Pegasus
4. The band will upload your offering to Tumblr
The winning submission will be decided in November!
Neg Peg play a FREE! show in Brighton tomorrow night to launch their debut in a room designed to submerge the unsuspecting spectator in 360 degree projections, be warned once in their world there is no escape. The band will share the bill with remix buddies Pseudo Nippon.
[2] Our Krypton Son New Single
Belfast-based LaFaro fans will be delighted to hear that the guys take to stage tonight in Auntie Annies to celebrate the birth of the Black stuff, and yes we are talking about one Jonny Black. (Sorry... Arthur who?) While the finishing touches are being made to the bands third studio album they continue the live shows through Belfast Music Week after which they'll hit the road with Therapy? and Hawk Eyes.
[4] MTC Half-Time Report
While we write this More Than Conquerors 'should' be waking up on a floor in a promoters house somewhere in Leicester and high-fiving the halfpoint of their UK tour. That means you still have 9 more chances to catch them live on this run before its home to complete their debut album. Urban Outfitters Leeds celebrate freshers week in October - come join MTC and Beware Wolf on Thursday 4th October for live music, free sweets and 20% off everything in store.
[5] Keep In Touch!
