Naive And Heart-Warming

Smalltown America are a lovely bunch of people who regularly release records by bands that’d normally never be in a position to do so themselves. alas, maybe their generosity was a touch too great with this single.

It’s nothing fundamentally bad, just a bit “been there, done it” for this century. The guitars aren’t quite punchy enough to be catchy, or subtle enough to be beautiful; the dual harmonised vocals aren’t quite endearing enough to carry the songs, and the whole thing feels all too familiar.

Naïve and heart-warming it might be; but ultimately not enough to warrant purchase.
