Muzz Art Review Mnemotechnic

"...Having kept the sharp and mechanical aspect of math rock and the strike force and authenticity of noise music, they create a hybrid style together with an irrepressible groove."

French musical webzine ?Don't muck around with this kind of band: the three songs appear to be a promising revelation. These four musicians from Brest have discarded their previous noise and math rock projects to dedicate themselves to this… post punk group, let's put it this way…?Having kept the sharp and mechanical aspect of math rock and the strike force and authenticity of noise music, they create a hybrid style together with an irrepressible groove. They hence deliver a demo that let us foresee beautiful future releases.??The furious and uncontrolled dance begins with Party People and its shrill and slightly acid guitars added to an attractive singing and crazy rhythmics.?We speed up, slow down and start again for a noisy take off. Energy and inspiration never fail. Mnemotechnic's sound draws an original canvas whose singularity is confirmed in Red Cat Blackout: more halting, also enlivened by delectable sounds and relevant sudden mood swings, characteristic of the band's already strongly asserted identity.??Dense but nevertheless extremely consistent, their universe surprises and captivates, « Dear Brittle Lights » indicates this, the last song of this way too short first effort, to which a follow-up is already necessary. The symbiosis is strong and the instrumental attacks head-on but never lacking subtlety, well-thought and very accurate, recoup the outlay, with the help of Arnaud Kermarrec-Tortorici's shrill organ and these unbeatable rhythmic alternations,?The thundering introduction does require confirmation, but the Breton musicians obviously bear the necessary qualities to hammer in a stylish and temperamental rock, personal eventhough not quite yet freed from well regurgigated influences . Given all that, no doubt that the material to come announces a big surprise and for the moment, let's thoroughly enjoy these 3 nuggets, nearly as memorable, giving an idea of the level reached here, as the quartet's outstanding live versions. Watch out! Revelation!"
