"[Negative Pegasus] remind me of Wire, when they're at their most mental or Copenhagan newcomers Iceage... or maybe it's just psych trying to be pushed to the limit." NME
Debut album 'Looming' is scheduled for an Autumn release on STA, live dates and single release details coming soon on the site.
Our Krypton Son and Sullivan & Gold delivered beautiful versions of their songs 'I'll Never Learn To Say Goodbye' and 'Jigsaws' respectively whilst Dollface and Figure Of 8 curated remixes of those same songs.
Tim Farrell and Kris Platt [More Than Conquerors] also produced some great artwork for the limited edition 7" vinyl which is now available for pre-order. Of course, if you just can't wait, you can get it right now through digital download.
This month marks the release of the second single to be taken from Our Krypton Son's debut eponymous album, Plutonium is available on Smalltown America as a limited edition, coloured vinyl 7" and digital download. Both versions are backed with the previously unreleased 'Nowhere' and 'As I Fade Away'.
"An artist with a vision of creating more than just a formulaic pop song. A breathtaking nugget just waiting to be discovered." - [Charlotte Dryden - The Fly]
"With it's piano and vocal style calling to mind Suede's "By the Sea", with a vocal style that seems to sit somewhere in the murky water between E from Eels and Damon Albarn."
- [The Metaphorical Boat]
A few live dates for your diary:
16 June | The Pavillion - Belfast (supporting Conor Mason)
For those who don't know, Pigstock is a bespoke festival set in the beautiful country side of Killinchy, Northern Ireland. Since starting in 2008 as a birthday party, it has grown to 3 stages with more than 1500 people in attendance each year. To find out more about this years line-up and to buy tickets click here.
Representing STA at this years festival are LaFaro, More Than Conquerors and Fighting With Wire, this will be the first festival outting for each band this summer, they have promised some unmissable performances, so check it out.
This month we have More Than Conquerors in session with 'Bear Knuckle Fight'. Usually this rambunctious song inspires mosh pits with its pounding drums, jagged guitars and fist in the air choruses. On this version, the band quells the noise in favour of intimate vocals and a more languid approach. Enjoy!
