LaFaro To Play Electric Picnic

"We're delighted to have been asked, it's flattering to be offered the chance to play such a great festival" - Dave Magee

We're all ecstatic at STA HQ to have recieved the news that the mighty LaFaro will be playing at Ireland's largest music festival this year -  Electric PicnicMore than 35,000 people will descent on Stradbally Village, Co. Laois to see such acts as The Cure, Elbow and Patti Smith amongst others.

LaFaro are playing on the Sunday [2nd Sept] on the Oxjam Stage alongside fellow NI Acts Fighting With Wire, Axis Of and Rams' Pocket Radio to name but a few. On hearing the news, LaFaro guitarist Dave Magee said:

"We're delighted to have been asked, it's flattering to be offered the chance to play such a great festival and even more so as it's for such an incredible charity."

LaFaro are currently recording their third album, this time opting for home recording rather than a studio. When I asked Dave about how things are going he replied:

"The album is shaping up well, drums are done and we're moving on to the riffage. Expect serious geetars on this one...."

Electric Picnic is the latest adition to LaFaro's Summer festival calender which also includes Glasgowbury [N. Ireland], Geuzenpop [Netherlands], and Krach am Bach [Germany].

If you can't see the band this Summer, don't fret, plans are already being laid for the next European tour provisionally scheduled for Autumn 2012.

In the meantime hopefully this will quench your thirst for riffs:
