Jingle All The Dayer - Mince Pies Or Yule Logs?

We also caught up with Nestor, head honcho at The Deku Tree the maverick behind this whole day, and put some tricky questions to him. Just so we can bring you, our adoring public, some more key details about this event. We're nice like that!

You may remember that last week, we brought you news on Jingle All The Dayer, an exciting Christmas alldayer Flyer by Fran Rodgers - isn't it ace?in Leeds that STA has become involved with. We also caught up with Nestor, head honcho at The Deku Tree the maverick behind this whole day, and put some tricky questions to him. Just so we can bring you, our adoring public, some more key details about this event. We're nice like that!

Tell us all a bit about the event: what can we expect?

It's going to be pretty much the most festive time ever, possibly more so than christmas day. We'll be showing christmas films on a big screen above the stage, offering christmas biscuits & mince pies, and making the holy trinity church even more beautiful with decorations. And that's without even mentioning the artists playing. They'll also be a few surprises...

As we know first-hand, running an all-dayer is a lot of hard work. What made you decide to run one?

Firstly, because I'm the most sentimental person when it comes to christmas, and I've got this really romantic image of a perfect festive day - I guess we'll see if that works out though. Secondly, because of the amount of amazing music that's around Yorkshire and beyond; I sometimes look over the line-up and can't quite believe how we've managed it. Lastly, because I think St George's Crypt is an amazing charity, and throughly deserves the proceeds from the event.

Obviously, as the organiser, you're probably looking forward to seeing.. well.. everyone. But what one think in particular are you most excited about?

I think Yndi Halda closing the day with "Enjoy Eternal Bliss" should be amazing - them filling the church with sound as It's 'A Wonderful Life' plays above the stage... Also, seeing fellow organisors dressed as elves will be quite something.

Finally, the most important question by far: do you prefer mince pies or yule log? Please justify your choice.

Yule log! I'm a little scared to admit that I find mince pies horrible... Hmm, perhaps that's a good note to end this interview on?

Tickets for the event are onsale now, via Crash and Jumbo in Leeds and online via STA's ticketting outfit of choice, We Got Tickets. STA staffer Daniel will be there, although he has no recollection of agreeing to dress like an elf. However, it is Christmas, so he may wear a sparkly silver top hat or something.
