JPL Releases New Single "My Radio Heart"

Watch Jetplane Landing's new video for "My Radio Heart", filmed in Derry.

First single to be taken from Jetplane Landing's fourth studio album 'Don't Try', "My Radio Heart" is a grooving slab of positive energy from the Derry-based quartet. Reflecting on the life-affirming nature of music and its power to change our lives; from Jerry Lee-Lewis to Ian McKaye; Jetplane loves artists that inform the world in which we live and kick all our asses. "My Radio Heart" is about a love for music that never dies.

The promo video that accompanies the track was shot over a two day period in the band's hometown and its cast of over 100 people features Bikers, Boxers, Mods, Dancers, Moshers and Singers - disparate groups, all close to the band's heart and all of whom reflect the lyrical sentiment of the song.

Drawing inspiration from ‘80s hardcore and associated with the British Post-Hardcore movement (see Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, Hundred Reasons, Reuben and Hell Is For Heroes) the band released their debut album, 'Zero for Conduct' in 2001 and followed it up with 'Once Like a Spark' in 2003.

Regarded as a scene-defining record, ‘Once Like A Spark’ propelled the band onto even larger stages and deeper into the hearts of fans of mathy, cerebral punk rock.  The band's third album, 'Backlash Cop' [2007], incorporated funk and hip hop elements, inviting comparisons to political torch-bearers Rage Against the Machine.

The band took a break from playing live in 2007 and return to public view six years later with this new record 'Don't Try' and new drummer Craig McKean (Fighting With Wire). A taut, visceral art-rock affair 'Don't Try' draws easiest comparison to the bands work on fan-favourite EP 'Els Quatre Gats' [2002] however offers elements from the band's entire recorded output so far. The band tour the UK and Ireland in September in support of the release.
