'To lose one bass player is careless, but five . . . Jamie King is the last in a long line of four-stringers.'

#4 - FIGHTING WITH WIRE

Fighting With Wire are music as intent, pure and raw. Reprising the attitude and sound of mid-90s post-grunge alternative rock, they refuse to cater to fleeting fashions; instead investing all their efforts in songs bold, belligerent and utterly true. An imminent debut album will seek to harness the onstage Hiroshima that the three-piece detonate each and every time they play live.

Need To Know

  • Unrelenting live campaigners, Fighting With Wire have brought their fist-pumping firepower on tour with Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, Reuben, yourcodenameis:milo, Kerbdog, Nomeansno, Brigade, Against Me! and Seafood.
  • To lose one bass player is careless, but five . . . Jamie King is the last in a long line of four-stringers.
  • Fiercely DIY, Fighting With Wire retain a healthy cynicism about the record industry. O’Doherty recently described the UK music scene as "the complete opposite of everything we do and stand for. Shite bands with no songs and lots of attitude".
  • Intensely proud of their Derry roots, the band does much to encourage local music, forging strong links with native acts and participating in various youth projects in the city.
  • Frontman O’Doherty also plays guitar for the incomparable Jetplane Landing.
